Charmed Russian Fairytales on the Côte d’Azur

I have had a love affair with everything Russian since early childhood, when nothing mesmerized me more than when mum used to read to me from the “Charmed Russian Fairytales” book… The illustrations and the stories themselves carried me to a world of wonders that seemed a lot more enchanting than the stories of the Grimm brothers or the traditional Romanian stories. Afterwards, during highschool, Russian authors were some of my favourite companions (Andrei Makine is still in my top three authors, probably on the first place). Then, I started taking Russian classes and learned, besides the alphabet and some words, a lot more about the Russian culture and way of life.

This long introduction is meant for Alexander Terekhov’s spring summer 2013 lookbook images, exuding an air of easy sophistication that makes me think of the Russian dolls. The photos were shot in Saint Tropez, on the French Riviera.
