If you want your wedding day to play out like a genuine fairytale all you need to do is wish on a shooting star. Ok, you may need to put in a bit more effort than that, but your nuptial dreams really can come true if you do some research, plan ahead and most importantly, think big!
Here are a few tips to inspire you and help you create a fairytale wedding day.

Read/watch fairytales

The first step is research, and what better way to research a fairytale wedding than by reading your favourite fairytale books or watching your favourite movies. The majority of old Disney films seem to end with an extravagant, magical wedding scene so take note, and consider how you could bring this to life.

A winning dress code

Try not to get so carried away with your theme that guests have to come in actual costume. Beauty and the Beast may be your favourite film but uncle Ken will look stupid dressed as a talking carriage clock. A smart dress code is usually all you need, but you could suggest basic colours like red, black and white for a classy congregation.

Romantic candlelight

Nothing says romance like candlelight so make sure your ceremony and reception is warmly illuminated with flickering orange flames. A selection of candelabra and a scattering of tea lights provide a lovely glow and wonderful ambience.

Fairy lights

Candles look great but to light up a large venue you would need, frankly, a dangerous amount. Subsidise this romantic lighting with some fairy lights, wrapped around beams, strung up in trees and wherever you can place them. These little pin points of light look beautiful.

The dream dress

There is no fairytale without the fairytale dress, but all girls know that and won’t stop scouring the bridal shops until they have the one.

A beautiful setting

As well as the venue for the ceremony and the reception, you should consider the surrounding countryside, suburbs or urban area.

Cameras to capture

To capture your fairytale day forever it is worth hiring a photographer in your area who knows what they are doing. David Wadley is a photographer in Birmingham who takes magical shots, and there are professionals in all areas to help you remember your nuptials forever.
