Inspiration: The Rain Painting

project Fairytale: The Rain Paintings

As many people think I am strange, I try to humor them as often as I can (I’m nice like that:p). One thing I love is simplicity. Not just minimalism, but extreme manifestations of it: I could look at a beautiful sheet of white, cream or ivory paper for a long time, and not get bored. And if that paper has a story and a features a tiny raindrop in the middle of it, I am more than willing to consider it art, a genius idea and a perfect birthday present for me (soon, very soon).

Gustavo Sousa is the artist behind the rain paintings project and I discovered him thanks to Design Crush. He collects raindrops from different places all over the world, and uses them to obtain the beautiful watercolor paintings that each represents a cloud. Until now, my faves are from Paris, Venice, Rio and LA.
