On Thursday I am leaving for a couple of days of skiing in the neighbouring Bulgaria, but I am actually dreaming of the sunny slopes of the Alpes. And Chamonix would really be a Fairytale Destination, and the Grand Hotel des Alpes my dreamy retreat after a full day in the snow. Probably my outfits would not be in accordance with the rules of etiquette there (I tend to wear colorful and very loose fit outfits while snowboarding, and not classy, tight ski outfits) but I wouldn’t care very much.
The Grand Hotel des Alpes right in the centre of Chamonix, close to the Aiguille du Midi cable car and the Mer de Glace. Its excellent facilities include an indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. After a long day on the mountain, I would love to unwind in front of the open fire or in the comfortable lounge overlooking Mont Blanc (or just have a glass of red wine on my room terrace).
