Weddings are moments which you wish could last a lifetime. You’re getting hitched to the person you love, you’re already thinking about your future life, and you have your best friends and family right beside you during the whole event. On top of that, you get to be indulgent as everyone’s attention is on you and the groom. It’s the one day in your life where you can be and should be selfish. However, don’t get wrapped up in the events of the day because you need to think about the memories you want to have. Of course, a photographer and videographer must be at the wedding. Multiple media technicians should be present in fact. This doesn’t mean you don’t play a role in their work. You need to be thinking of where you want to have your pictures taken and for what purpose. It’s a good idea to select some backdrops and situations where you can create the memories you want.

Be in character

Wedding photographs hardly have to be the same old same. They don’t need to be you and groom and an ocean behind you. The newly wedded couple don’t have to stare into each other’s eyes and be unironically cliche. You can in fact get in different characters in a photo booth. With different props and backgrounds you can take photos that are depicting different situations and moods. It can be just one person in the booth, or multiple. It’s kind of like a class photo where everyone is in different positions, wearing different accessories and showing different sides to their personality. With it being less serious, you get to be more playful and create original memories that are unique by design.

Showing the horsepower

Cars and carriages are a big deal at weddings. They are the transport that takes the bride and groom to the place of holy matrimony to be blessed and made into one knot. So, they are a big deal when it comes to your wedding album. Whether it’s the bride or the groom, you should take pictures of the cars and carriages at some point. Use them as the backdrop, and use them as a focal point in the shots. If you’re a car enthusiast then you will want to get a shot of the engine, the styling, wheels and with you both inside it in driver and passenger positions. Carriages are much the same. Use the horses as a backdrop. You might not remember what color your horses were in a decade so they should be made part of your special day since they add to the beauty.

Bird’s eye view

Many weddings have photos of the church at ground level. However if you’re having a cathedral wedding, you can ask to climb to the top of the spire and have your backdrop as the distant landscape. The bird’s eye view will be something uncommon which is one way to make your wedding unique.

There are all kinds of backdrops for weddings that are cliche and boring. These are more creative and give your own day more depth and individuality.
