Is there any better way to welcome in 2020 than with a ‘Roaring Twenties’ themed party? Here are some ideas to help you create the most authentic and glamorous 1920s themed party.
Decorate
Take your inspiration from the era and turn your home into a glamorous speakeasy. This can be achieved by draping black curtains over the entrance to your party. It makes it feels secretive and exclusive, just like a speakeasy in the prohibition era! You can tie these back with something glamorous and fitting with the theme such as a string of pearls or a feather bower.
Another idea is to create a backdrop as a focal point in your home, not only does this create a perfect focal point for your party it also doubles as an extravagant photo back drop. You can create a wall of gold fringing, which is not only in-keeping with the theme but also adds some glamour to your speakeasy.
Create a Buffet
If you’re serving moonshine, it’s always a good idea to have some snacks available for your guests if you want them to make it to midnight, however, there is nothing glamorous about cheese and pineapple sticks. You don’t have to make extravagant food, but if you decorate your buffet table correctly you can make your sausage rolls look a lot more glam so here are some ideas for decorating your table:
- Use gold or black table covers
- Purchase long thin vases and spray or paint the base of them gold in an ombre effect, fill the base of them with pearls and then place black feathers in them. You can create just one as a centre piece, or you can make a few and place them amongst the food on your table.
- Make candle holders by wrapping lace material around a plain glass, then place an LED candle inside. Dot them around your buffet table for ambience.
Get Balloons
It wouldn’t be a party without balloons! Helium balloons can be a finishing touch to your party decor. They will act as a finishing touch to your gold photo back drop. You can either go big with a balloon arch or subtle with gold confetti balloons.
Look the Part
