Are you a health fanatic? Is it time you turned your passion into a career? There are many jobs to explore in the health and fitness sector. Below are just a few that could be ideal for a fitness lover.

Become a personal trainer

For those that love working out, a job as a personal trainer could be perfect. You can help others to reach their fitness goals by showing them the best exercises and motivating them. Most personal trainers base themselves in a gym – this is the easiest place to find clients and a good place to build a name for yourself. Successful personal trainers typically find a niche and use this to help them stand out and attract specific clients. Check out these steps to being a personal trainer for more information on how to get into this industry.

Become a nutritionist

If you have a good understanding of nutrition and healthy eating, you could consider getting a job as a nutritionist. This could involve helping people to follow better diets to reach their health goals. Nutritionists typically work at health clinics, although others work at hospitals and even schools. Taking a course in nutrition will give you the qualifications you need to pursue this occupation.

Become a physiotherapist

Physiotherapists help people to overcome injuries and disabilities through exercise, education and therapy. This can be another great role for someone that is passionate about health and fitness. Most physiotherapists work at clinics or hospitals. A specialist option for those that love sport and exercise could be to become a sports therapist – this could allow you to focus specifically on sports and workout injuries. There are physiotherapy courses that you can take to obtain the relevant qualifications. Find out more here about becoming a physiotherapist

Become a gym manager

If you love the gym, you could even consider becoming a gym manager. This typically requires management qualifications or management experience of some kind. While most people choose to manage a franchise, an alternative option for those that are entrepreneurial could be to start your own gym. This requires high upfront costs and is definitely a more risky option, however it could give you complete freedom to design your gym how you want.

Become a fitness store sales assistant

You may be able to find a store that focuses on fitness equipment. Having a passion for fitness could benefit you here and you don’t need any qualifications in most cases. For those with greater ambitions, getting a job as a fitness store manager could be an option. You could even consider starting your own fitness store if you’ve got the entrepreneurial drive.

Become a sports instructor

Is there a sport that you’re highly experienced at? If so, becoming an instructor or coach could be an option. Tennis instructors, ski instructors, diving instructors, yoga instructors, martial arts instructors and football coaches are all examples. You could host classes or one to one sessions. Just make sure that you have the relevant qualification to teach your sport – many sports governing bodies require obtaining some form of licence in order to become an instructor.
