Travelling can be costly, and sometimes, you don’t want to miss your opportunity window. Maybe you had your eyes set on a particular destination, and don’t want to miss out on the good season. In other cases, your holiday might be around the corner, and you need just a bit more to feel comfortable. However, getting a loan for a trip is not always easy, and this can be even worse if your credit is already maxed out. But there are still things that you can do to get some extra money before your trip if you know where to look. Here are a few of them.

Take a Side Gig

If you have the time for it, why not consider getting a side job? That could be anything from babysitting a relative’s child, to courier work, or even renting out some of your assets. Some services will even allow you to rent out your vehicle to other people for cash. Since you only need money for a trip, you won’t have to do it for long if it’s not your cup of tea.

Consider Alternative Lending Options

Many banking institutions are not particularly fond of the idea of lending money for holidays. However, there are some alternative options that you could consider.

Need a quick Loan? Go for a payday loan instead. These will allow you to get access to cash fast, and most will approve you as long as you can show proof of income over a certain period. You can also repay those over the course of multiple months.

Get Organised

Another thing that you should do is get your finances in order right now if you haven’t already, and cut off all superfluous expenses.

Get yourself a nice thermos bottle and fill it with coffee instead of spending a fortune each week on takeaway drinks. Learn how to cook, and avoid pre-packaged and prepared foods. You’d be surprised at how much money you could save by making everything from scratch, and how overpriced prepared foods can be.

Buy in bulk, and find coupons. Try to find ways to save on travel as well. Know the best times to book trips, and consider group discounts if you’re going with friends. Another thing you could consider is going for group accommodation, such as a villa, condo, or serviced apartment. These will not only cost you less on average when you split the costs, but will allow you to save even more when you consider the fact that you’ll be able to cook your own food.

Also consider downsizing, and going for a cheaper destination. You don’t have to go to Bali when you can get the same experience on much cheaper islands. You’ll have less tourists to deal with as well.

As you can see, there are tons of ways that you can find money for your next adventure. Just make sure that you consider all options, and trim the fat where you can.
