If you’re a tourist who just can’t decide whether you want to experience the city or the island life, fret not. Cebu can give you both.

There are times in our life wherein we find it hard to choose what to do or what to want, including that of our vacation destinations, especially to an island that has so much to offer. When you’re time to visit a new place is limited, as most of our vacations are, you would want to at least experience the best things the place can offer. So, what do you do when you really are torn between spending some time in the urban jungle and the scenic and serene beaches and mountains?

Here’s an answer for that: you visit both. If you’re wondering how it’s even possible for such a short amount of time, that’s why we have great tour agencies such as Island Trek Tours to help you out. It would make coming up an itinerary so much easier and you get to visit the places you really want and which are definitely not a waste of time.

Even while enjoying the tropical paradise, city amenities are just within reach, as Cebu’s resorts ensure that you get your fill of the island life without having to sacrifice the comforts that city life brings, minus the noise and busy streets. If you are, however, up for immersing yourself into the Cebuano city life, then just by mere hours and even minutes of travel, you could get to the vibrant city areas that would make any city folk feel just at home.

For such a small island, Cebu definitely is a complete package. Being in the island would make you feel like you are living in two worlds. One minute you are in one of the most dynamic and rich metropolis, the next you are in one of the world’s best white-sand beaches.  Cebu is a great place for shopping, dining and, not to forget, the nightlife, and it is a great place to let your hair down, kick off those shoes and simply lounge by a pool or by the beach; you can also go up a mountain to experience Cebu’s amazing skyline. Once you’ve had enough of watching the glass and steel high-rises piercing the sky, maybe you would want something truly unforgettable and nerve-wracking such us knowing how to go swimming with whale sharks in Oslob Cebu, Philippines and being able to do it.

Cebu is one of the largest Philippine city and it is, in fact, the oldest. It doesn’t mean though that by old, it means you only get to see old structures. There are, in fact, old and historical places in Cebu such as the Basilica del Santo Niño that would help you get a glimpse of the bygone days, but its modern city scene doesn’t disappoint. City life is always alive, even at night. People are out and about throughout the city, enjoying the parks, shopping centers, and restaurants, among many others.

Don’t miss the Cebuano cuisine, especially lechon, which, according to the late chef Anthony Bourdain, was “the best pig ever.” In fact, in every tourist spot, you could ask for a certain area’s delicacies. Locals would gladly point you to the right direction.

Cebu is rich in history, natural wonders, as well as the conveniences of the modern city. It’s easy to get around as you won’t run out of options for your means of transportation. There are taxis, tricycles, jeepneys, buses, vans for rents, among others. Cebu is simply the best place to enjoy life’s luxuries.
